I remember coming to the conclusion strictly in my own opinion, that there are two significant causes in social change in behavior and in ethics. This is my opinion.
Number one. Was taking the Bible out of the schools. Not that it wasn’t an infringement on the rights of others. But that it represented a standard. Which reflected the nature of God. That is, the source of all ethics is the characteristics of God, honesty, integrity, faithfulness, truth, loyalty, trust, these values. Come from the description of God as represented in the Holy Scriptures, and whether you want to admit it or not, there is no other basis for ethics.
. The second was taking a man out of the family home. Men can be inducted and taken away from their families, maybe for a short time, maybe permanently for military service. How else are men taking out of the family? Men are taken out of the family when society supports women and children, but a woman is penalized if she has a child and has a man living with her. She doesn’t get the same benefits or maybe gets no benefits at all. Then there is divorce and custody.
So the man has been taken out of the home. Without a man in the home, there is no role of the man in the home. There’s no role model of the man in the home. Now you can have a different viewpoint, and that’s OK. Am I saying that women can’t do it? No, I’m not saying that at all. There’s plenty of evidence that women can be leaders. In our church, the easiest example to pick is the founder of our faith, the founder of a force. Force 4 Square Gospel Church was Amy Simple McPherson, a woman. I’ll let that sink in. And I don’t have to tell you how big this church is around the world came from one person, a woman. There’s evidence in the Bible of women that were leaders. However, God’s plan wasn’t necessarily for it to be that way. God’s plan was for the man. To provide things in the home they could not be provided. In other ways. Again, I’m not saying a woman is not capable. And I’m not saying women haven’t had a
